Taiwanese Foreign Minister Visits U.S. After U.S.-China Summit... Tours TSMC Plant
Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lin Chialung, is reported to be visiting the United States and is scheduled to tour the TSMC semiconductor plant.
On October 4, the Central News Agency of Taiwan reported that on the previous day, Minister Lin arrived in Phoenix, Arizona, on the afternoon of October 3 local time.
During his visit to the United States, Minister Lin is set to attend the signboard unveiling ceremony of the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Phoenix," which functions as a consulate. He will then tour the TSMC plant in Arizona with a business delegation.
Previously, Minister Lin toured Belize and Guatemala, two Central and South American diplomatic allies, following the U.S.-China summit on September 24, and then proceeded to the United States after completing his itinerary.
At the TSMC plant, Minister Lin is expected to communicate with companies investing in the United States and identify their practical needs.

Meanwhile, China has recently increased pressure on the United States to publicly declare its opposition to Taiwan's independence. At the recent U.S.-China summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping openly requested U.S. President Donald Trump to confirm this position.
