Kim Wooho, Former Head of Ministry of Personnel Management, Appointed as Chairman of Government Employees Pension Service
The Government Employees Pension Service (GEPS) announced on October 2 that Kim Wooho, former head of the Ministry of Personnel Management, has been inaugurated as the 19th Chairman of the Government Employees Pension Service.
Born in 1963, the new chairman Kim graduated from the Department of German Language and Literature at Seoul National University. He holds a master's degree in public administration from Seoul National University's Graduate School of Public Administration and a doctorate in public administration from the University of Seoul.
He began his public service career by passing the 37th Higher Civil Service Examination, and has since served as the Secretary for Personnel Affairs at the Presidential Office, Standing Commissioner of the Appeals Commission, and head of the Ministry of Personnel Management.
The Government Employees Pension Service stated, "By demonstrating professional capabilities in personnel and administration, we expect that Chairman Kim will establish a fair and reasonable personnel system and an active administrative organizational culture, enabling GEPS to become a public institution that meets the expectations of citizens."
