Ten art companies selected for the '2026 Startup Support Project in the Arts Field' participated, presenting their products and services to approximately 200 visitors.
This event was organized to allow early-stage art companies to showcase content that had previously remained in the development stage directly to consumers in order to observe their reactions. On-site data regarding visitor numbers, sales performance, and popular products will be compiled into a market response report for each company, which will subsequently be used for developing future marketing and sales strategies.
The participating fields ranged from visual arts and performing arts to artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR). Sui Gouache presented a gouache paint kit and digital color assets based on traditional Korean colors, while Kon Art introduced a brush painting kit inspired by modern reinterpretations of folk paintings and art wellness content. Uyeon Lab featured upcycled goods made from waste paint as raw material.
The event also tested the commercial viability of performing arts content. Lucky Charms showcased its intellectual property (IP) from performances such as 'Dosan' and 'Rashomon,' and Fine Dining Theater unveiled immersive theatrical content that combines performance with gastronomy.
Technology-driven art companies focused on new viewing experiences. Six Dopamine presented immersive exhibition content using XR that allows viewers to dive into the narrative. ArtFit showcased an art solution that combines AI with curator cross-validation. YourNest introduced the platform 'MeM (My emotional Museum),' which analyzes the user's emotions in real time to propose customized art experiences.
Company Uyeon presented the immersive play 'Gobeullak,' in which scenes change in response to the audience's location and movement. The main performance, held from September 25 to 27, was completely sold out. Mandado Company featured digital archiving and distribution services for performances and exhibitions, and plans to archive this popup as well so that it is available for online viewing.
The popup space included physical products by each company, curated tables, and drawer-type display cases that visitors could open themselves. For services and tech content that were difficult to present physically, displays were provided through videos, QR codes, and tablet demonstrations. Products available for purchase were sold on-site via individual payment links for each company.
In addition to providing the data collected at the popup to the participating companies, Korea Arts Management Service will also support the arrangement of follow-up meetings, discussions on collaboration terms, and agreement signings throughout this month and next month.
