Coway Launches "Wearable Walking Assistance Robot"
1.6kg Ultra-Lightweight and Ergonomic Design
Optimized for Walking, Climbing Stairs, Strolling, and More
Coway announced on October 2 that it has officially launched its "Wearable Walking Assistance Robot" and has begun offering rental services. The product aims to support comfortable walking and help invigorate daily activities for seniors and other individuals with walking difficulties.
The "Coway Wearable Walking Assistance Robot" is a wearable device that assists the user's walking power in line with their movements. It helps users of various age groups walk and move more comfortably and can also be used for activities such as hiking and light exercise.
The new product is worn around the waist and secured with leg straps. It features a human-adaptive joint technology that naturally follows the user's movements, and an ultra-lightweight design at just 1.6 kilograms for enhanced freedom of movement and easy wearability. The device was developed in collaboration with the global robotics company WIRobotics.
This product offers seven customized modes to accommodate various walking scenarios, ranging from everyday walking to stair or slope navigation, strolling, and light jogging. Hardware using carbon materials and high-mobility fabrics have been applied to make it lightweight yet comfortable to wear.
Notably, it is dustproof and waterproof certified, making it safe to use in rainy or dusty conditions. Through a dedicated application, the robot analyzes the user's walking patterns in real time and provides voice guidance on stride length, speed, and other metrics. It also recommends training programs tailored to the user's exercise preferences. In addition, it offers a "Smart Walking Report" based on a variety of walking data, enabling users to continuously monitor and manage their walking status and changes.
