Polaris Office Details "Agent-Ready SaaS" Strategy... Targets Public and Enterprise Markets
Polaris Office is set to fully launch its 'Agent-Ready SaaS' strategy, enabling AI agents to directly utilize enterprise data and work systems to carry out real tasks. The company plans to build an AI work platform that connects document creation, approval, and subsequent work processes by combining industry-specific expert data and AI with documents and groupware.
On October 2, Polaris Office announced that it had unveiled this business strategy at the "3rd AI Cloud Big Tech 2026" event, hosted by the Korea Association for Artificial Intelligence Cloud Industry (KACI), which was held at El Tower in Yangjae, Seoul, on October 1.
On this day, Haeseok Lee, Executive Vice President and Group Chief AI Officer (CAIO) of Polaris Office, gave a presentation titled "Agent-Ready SaaS Strategy: Building an Execution Engine through Domain-Specific Data and SLM."
Lee addressed concerns about the so-called "end of SaaS" theory, which suggests that the expansion of AI agents could diminish the role of the traditional SaaS market. He explained that as AI agents, alongside humans, become principal users of software, new markets may actually form. In an environment where users provide only objectives and AI agents autonomously select the required data and software to complete the work, the importance of SaaS equipped with enterprise data and business procedures can increase.
Polaris Office plans to focus its business capabilities in the "work execution layer," where AI agents utilize a company's internal systems to generate tangible results. The strategy is to connect various systems—such as documents, groupware, electronic approval, and enterprise resource planning (ERP)—using APIs and Model Context Protocols (MCP), and to allow AI agents to carry out tasks across these connected systems.
For example, after an AI agent drafts a report, it can automatically submit it for approval, and then register the approved content back into work systems, seamlessly linking all these steps. The core concept is to minimize repetitive manual tasks such as accessing separate systems to transfer or re-enter data, and to enable seamless automation from document creation to follow-up work.
To target the highly secure public and financial sectors, Polaris Office will also implement lightweight language models (SLM) that incorporate industry- and organization-specific expert data, regulations, and work procedures. In environments with restricted external network access, AI will be operated on-device or through internal networks to protect sensitive internal data while supporting work automation. Additionally, the company plans to establish a control system that restricts the data and execution privileges AI agents can access and ensures compliance with approval procedures for each organization.
For commercialization, Polaris Office will combine its document processing technology with the groupware and electronic approval expertise of Polaris AI Handy. By leveraging the experience both companies have accumulated in building work systems for public institutions and enterprise clients, they plan to integrate AI functions into their existing solutions and expand services that can be used in real work environments.
Polaris AI Handy is expanding its business into the cloud and SaaS domain, building on its existing on-premises groupware business and the SaaS services acquired from WantedLab. Polaris Office intends to interlink these foundations to develop AI work platforms tailored to the security requirements and operational environments of each customer.
Haeseok Lee, Executive Vice President of Polaris Office, said, "In the age of AI agents, the range of software users extends beyond people to include agents themselves," adding, "Future competitiveness will depend on whether agents can utilize a company's data and work systems to deliver actual results."
He continued, "By combining Polaris Office's document technology with Polaris AI Handy's groupware and work workflow, we aim to build an environment where AI agents can truly work. We are committed to expanding into the public and enterprise markets with an AI work platform that reflects the operational characteristics and security requirements of each industry."
