Lighter and Stronger Car Bodies... Dong-Eui University Student Wins Excellent Paper Award in Science and Technology
A graduate student at Dong-Eui University who conducted research on technologies to make automobile bodies lighter while increasing rigidity has received a prestigious award in the field of science and technology in Korea.
Dong-Eui University Graduate School announced on October 2 that Hyundo Jeon, a master's student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was selected as a recipient of the 36th Excellent Paper Award in Science and Technology.
Hyundo Jeon's paper, “A Study on the Optimization of Stiffener Bead Shape and Rigidity Enhancement of Automotive Body Using Arc-based Additive Manufacturing,” was recommended by the Korean Welding and Joining Society and selected as an excellent paper. The award was presented on September 30 at the 60th anniversary ceremony of the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies, held at the Korea Science and Technology Center.

According to Dong-Eui University, the academic originality of the research results and their high potential for application in the automotive industry were highly regarded.
Hyundo Jeon stated, “I was able to achieve good results thanks to the careful guidance and teaching of my advisor, Professor Youngdo Park. I will continue research that can make a practical contribution to the fields of advanced materials and welding.”
