A Thai woman traveling in the Czech Republic entered her hotel room and noticed human fingers sticking out from under the bed. Upon closer inspection, she found a man hiding beneath the bed. Startled and alarmed, she immediately ran out of the room calling for help.
By then, the unidentified man who had been under the bed managed to leave the room and reportedly exited the hotel.
The group immediately informed the hotel staff of the situation and requested that the woman be moved to another room, but the hotel replied that a room change would be difficult.
The hotel also told them that they could only meet with the manager at 9:30 a.m. the next day. However, the group needed to leave for another city at that time due to their travel schedule.
They said the hotel staff at first seemed not to believe that there had been an intruder in the room and so requested a review of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. During this process, an argument broke out between the group and the hotel, and according to the group, the hotel also did not readily agree to their request to report the incident to the police.
It was only after waiting 30 minutes that they were able to contact the police, but the police also told them to formally file a report the next day.
Khonek stated that he was not angry at the police, but expressed dissatisfaction with the hotel's response. He asserted that even after being informed about the incident, hotel staff repeatedly stated, "There is nothing we can do."
He raised concerns about the hotel's lax security, noting the absence of security personnel at the entrance at night, and questioned how an unknown man could have entered the hotel and made his way to the guest rooms.
