Songpa-gu to Host Jazz Concert with Big Mama’s Lee Jiyoung on the 16th

Free Admission for All Seats at Songpa Culture & Arts Center
Reservations Accepted Starting October 2

Songpa-gu, Seoul (headed by Mayor Seo Kangseok), will hold the “Songpa Autumn Jazz Concert” at the Songpa Culture & Arts Center Art Hall at 6 p.m. on October 16.

Provided by Songpa-gu.

This event, hosted by Songpa-gu and organized by the Songpa Cultural Foundation, features vocalist Lee Jiyoung, formerly of the group Big Mama, performing together with a jazz quartet composed of saxophone, piano, bass, and drums. The concert will present a jazz stage suited to the autumn mood, including Lee Jiyoung's original songs “A Good Season to Love” and “Let’s Go on a Trip,” as well as an arrangement of the pop song “Longing Only Builds Up.”

A highlight of this performance will be the 'contralto' vocalist, representing the lowest female vocal range. The stage is set to showcase Lee Jiyoung's uniquely deep and rich lower register, which is not often heard.

The concert is free for all Songpa-gu residents. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via Naver Booking starting at 11 a.m. on October 2. Attendees will be required to show physical identification confirming Songpa-gu residency when receiving tickets at the venue. Further details can be found on the Songpa Cultural Foundation website and official blog. For inquiries, contact the Culture Performance Team at 070-7770-3268.

Mayor Seo Kangseok stated, “As we welcome the season when leaves pile up, we have prepared this event with utmost care so that residents can enjoy sweet jazz music.” He added, “I hope you create beautiful autumn memories together with your families and neighbors.”
