KB Investment and Nvidia Join Forces to Invest in GMI Cloud, a U.S. AI Infrastructure Company
GMI Cloud Secures Series B Funding

Domestic venture capital firms (VCs) such as KB Investment and DSC Investment have participated in the Series B round of funding for U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) cloud company GMI Cloud, alongside Nvidia.
On October 1, GMI Cloud announced that it had completed funding for its Series B round, raising a total of $668 million (approximately 907.4 billion won). Of this amount, $223 million came from equity investments, while Taiwan’s CTBC provided $445 million in credit facilities.
This round was led by ARCHIV, an AI and robotics-focused investment firm based in San Francisco, and also included the participation of global AI semiconductor leader Nvidia as an investor. In Korea, KB Investment, DSC Investment, Kyobo Life Insurance, and KT took part, while investors from the Asia-Pacific region such as Taiwan’s Trend Micro also joined the round.
Headquartered in Mountain View, California, GMI Cloud provides high-performance graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure and AI inference services. As demand for GPU computing has surged, its annual recurring revenue (ARR) based on contract has increased more than ninefold compared to the end of last year, while the ARR of live services has grown more than 4.5 times during the same period. The inference platform handles approximately 4 trillion tokens per week. Key clients include Fireworks, Hicksfield, NusResearch, and Trend Micro.
The company plans to use the newly raised funds to expand its GPU supply capabilities in the United States, Taiwan, and other Asia-Pacific markets. Its strategy is to strengthen infrastructure, focusing on the AI Factory in Asia—announced last year as its first regional stronghold—and the Japan Sovereign AI initiative unveiled earlier this year. Funds will also be invested in acquiring key talent for advancing inference services and further business expansion.
GMI Cloud is targeting the U.S. and Asian markets simultaneously. Depending on data and regulatory requirements, the platform allows users to deploy workloads in the desired region. Another strength lies in its robust supply chain, built on close collaboration with Taiwanese manufacturers responsible for most of the world’s AI server production.
Alex Yeh, CEO of GMI Cloud, stated, "In AI infrastructure, on-time delivery is a promise to the customer. Clients use this as a foundation for product launches, hiring, and revenue planning. Based on our solid position in the Taiwanese supply chain, we will build reliable computing infrastructure across continents and grow an ecosystem of products on top of it."
