Jungmi Hwang, Former Segye Ilbo Editor, Appointed as Endowed Chair Professor by Newspaper Editors Association Fund
The Korea Newspaper Editors Association Fund has selected Jungmi Hwang, former editor-in-chief of The Segye Ilbo, as the endowed chair professor for the Association Fund in 2026.
Hwang began her career as a reporter at The Segye Ilbo in 1990 and later served as both editor-in-chief and chief editor.
The endowed chair professorship program was established to contribute to the cultivation of national talent by having retired journalists share their knowledge and experience, accumulated over years of field reporting, with the younger generation. Selected among retired journalists, the professorship includes a one-year term with a lecture fee of KRW 30 million.
