Pearl Abyss Delays Release Date of First “Red Desert” DLC by Two Weeks
Release Date Changed from October 16 to 30
"Enhancing Quality for a More Satisfying Experience"
Pearl Abyss has delayed the release date for “Red Desert’s” first downloadable content (DLC), “Red Desert Enhanced: Unknown Journey,” by two weeks.
On September 30, Pearl Abyss announced that the DLC’s launch schedule would be changed from October 16 to October 30 to further improve the content’s quality and deliver a more satisfying experience for users.
The development team stated in a notice, “We are working hard on the DLC to deliver a new adventure on the Piwell Continent. However, we have determined that additional development time is required to provide a more stable gameplay experience. We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting. We will focus on enhancing the quality of the content during the additional period, and do our utmost to deliver a more satisfying experience.”
Earlier, on September 3, Pearl Abyss announced the original release date of the DLC and launched global pre-orders, releasing a new trailer during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s online showcase, “State of Play.”
The adventures that took place on land in the original “Red Desert” will continue out to sea in the DLC. Players will be able to set sail with their own ship, discovering new islands as well as treasures and ruins hidden beneath the ocean. Private lodgings can be decorated to reflect each player’s style and preferences, and players will be able to accumulate wealth by renting and managing various facilities themselves.
The DLC will be available exclusively as a digital download at a price of 27,800 won. All users who complete pre-orders will receive in-game equipment items for free. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series users who already own “Red Desert Enhanced” can purchase the DLC at a 10% discounted price.
