In addition, he examined the digital safety and security monitoring status and assessed the effectiveness of the 24-hour monitoring system that enables immediate response in case of a similar incident.
He also confirmed that the separation and relocation of battery facilities within the data center, implemented to enhance the safety of the battery facilities suspected as the cause of the fire, had been completed.
Subsequently, Minister Yun was briefed on the seamless transfer plans for major information systems, data backup measures, and the establishment of alternative infrastructure in preparation for the scheduled closure of the Daejeon Center in 2030, as part of mid- to long-term stabilization strategies.
He also checked the status of the disaster recovery (DR) system, designed to enable swift service restoration in the event of a disaster, as well as the progress of real-time data replication between the Daejeon Center and the Gongju backup center.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has established plans to implement disaster recovery systems for 97 major information systems at the Daejeon Center this year and will build them in phases until 2028.
