Seoul People Power Party Meets Oh Se-hoon: "Regular Communication... Aiming for a Landslide in the General Election"
"Making Seoul Administration a Model for National Governance"
"Unified to Achieve a Sweeping Victory Like During the Lee Myung-bak Administration"
Plan Announced for an Overnight Retreat Within This Year
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul branch of the People Power Party held their first party-government council meeting since Oh Se-hoon was elected mayor and agreed to establish a regular system of communication.
Cho Eun-hee, head of the Seoul branch of the People Power Party, met with reporters on September 30 at Seoul City Hall after finishing discussions with Mayor Oh and said, "While we are in the opposition at the national level, in Seoul we are the governing party. We will create a structure where the Seoul branch and the city work closely together to improve the quality of life for Seoul citizens."

We have come together in our resolve to make Seoul's municipal administration a model for national governance."
She continued, "With Mayor Oh’s election, even party chapter heads outside the National Assembly now have hope that they too could enter the Assembly next time. There is strong consensus to achieve a sweeping victory in the general election," she said.
During the meeting, some chapter heads directly raised local issues, while other participants called for more frequent communication between the central party, the Seoul branch, and Seoul City.
Cho noted, "I heard that a recent poll showed negative assessments of the Lee Jae-myung administration reached as high as 70% in Seoul," and added, "If we do well, we can win. Many expressed the view that, just as we recorded a decisive victory in Seoul during the Lee Myung-bak administration, now it is our turn to perform well."
The Seoul branch decided to use this meeting as an opportunity to formalize regular party-government consultations. Cho explained, "While there have been individual channels of communication, it is true that comprehensive party-government consultation has been lacking. Now that we've gathered, there is a sense of unity and energy. We will reconvene within this year, and the next meeting is planned as an overnight retreat."
