Danal Investment Partners and 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab to Collaborate on Supporting and Investing in Fintech Startups
Danal Investment Partners, the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Danal, is joining forces with the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab—a fintech startup incubator operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government—for the discovery, investment, and business collaboration with promising fintech companies. Their plan is to connect their investment expertise and startup incubation networks to support early-stage companies from initial growth to subsequent investments.
On September 30, Danal Investment Partners announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab for the discovery, development, and investment revitalization of fintech startups.
The 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab is an institution established and operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to discover and nurture promising early-stage fintech startups. As of 2026, it has supported 120 companies, generating 48.3 billion won in revenue and 14.6 billion won in investment attraction, among other achievements.
Under this agreement, both sides will work together to discover, invest in, and nurture venture and startup companies in the fintech sector. During the investment review process, feedback and mentoring will be provided to startups, while business collaboration and network exchanges will be expanded. Additional measures will be taken to support the business growth of portfolio companies within the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab, linking them with follow-up investment opportunities.
In particular, drawing on its experience investing in areas such as fintech, innovative finance, artificial intelligence (AI), content, and robotics, Danal Investment Partners plans to broaden its engagement with incubated companies. The firm will also seek opportunities for business collaboration with Danal and its affiliates, so that resident and portfolio companies at the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab can connect not only with investors but also with real industry partners.
Both organizations aim to go beyond simple investment review and pursue collaborative models that allow startups to leverage the infrastructure and networks of the Danal Group. Through these efforts, they plan to support early fintech companies in expanding their businesses, securing further investment, and contributing to the vitalization of the domestic fintech ecosystem.
Jin Changyong, CEO of Danal Investment Partners, stated, "I expect this will be an excellent opportunity to expand engagement with promising fintech startups discovered and nurtured by the 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab, and to explore possibilities for investment review and business cooperation together." He added, "We will continuously identify collaborative opportunities to support the growth of startups by leveraging the Danal Group's infrastructure and networks."
