View original imageAlice Group was founded in 2015, primarily by AI researchers from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Although it initially started as an educational platform, the company is now expanding its business with the aim of becoming an AI full-stack enterprise. Key competitive advantages highlighted by Alice Group include rapid infrastructure construction capabilities based on prefabricated modular data centers (PMDC), and operational efficiency driven by proprietary software solutions.
PMDC refers to a method of constructing AI infrastructure in which essential components such as graphics processing units (GPUs), servers, electrical systems, and cooling facilities are modularized and pre-manufactured before on-site installation. CEO Kim explained, “With our AI PMDC, we can reduce the infrastructure construction period—which used to take two to three years—to within three months, and lower initial infrastructure build-out costs (TCO) by up to 40%.” He added that by applying the company’s proprietary AI cloud optimization solution, ECI (Elice Cloud Infrastructure), computational efficiency for large-scale GPU clusters has been enhanced.
CEO Kim also stated, “Alice Group was the first domestic company to receive the Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification for PMDC, and we provide secure, closed-network AI infrastructure to our clients.” After establishing a business foundation in the public sector, the company plans to expand into finance and defense industries as well.
In the first half of this year, Alice Group reported consolidated revenue of 34.4 billion won and operating profit of 10.3 billion won. CEO Kim emphasized, “With the funds raised through the IPO, we will expand our edge AIDC in each region and accelerate the export of tailored AI PMDCs and AI computational resources to the global market.”
