Shinhan Bank Donates 1.75 Billion Won to Legal Aid Corporation to Support Individuals in Debt Crisis
Shinhan Bank announced on the 30th that it has donated 1.75 billion won to the Korea Legal Aid Corporation to support legal assistance and economic recovery for youth and other individuals facing debt crises.

View original imageThe donation ceremony took place the previous day at the Seoul Personal Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy Integrated Support Center of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and was attended by Sung Hyuk Jung, President of Shinhan Bank, and Youngjin Kim, Chairman of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation.
The donated funds will be used by the Corporation for the discovery of individuals in crisis debt situations, legal consultations, and legal aid projects such as personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy.
Since 1997, Shinhan Bank has cooperated with the Corporation to provide continued support for legal services. As of last year, the cumulative total of donations reached 51 billion won. Through this partnership, a total of 298,099 cases of legal assistance have been supported up to this year, benefiting 312,208 individuals from vulnerable backgrounds.

President Jung stated, "Helping those experiencing hardship due to economic difficulties and excessive debt to get back on their feet is an important social role of finance," adding, "We will continue to address the blind spots in financial and legal support and promote healthy recovery for vulnerable groups."
