"Wash Your Tumbler and Get Rewards"... LG Electronics Expands the 'LG Mycup' Ecosystem
"Mycup Star" Event with Starbucks in October
Expansion of Supply to Osan Air Base and Seoul Business Agency
LG Electronics is promoting the culture of reusable cup usage with its tumbler-dedicated cleaner "LG Mycup" and accelerating the discovery of new revenue models and B2B subscription services.
On September 30, LG Electronics announced that, together with Starbucks Korea, it will hold a joint "Mycup Star" event for one month from October 1 to 31, targeting customers who use LG Mycup. Customers who wash their tumblers three times using LG Mycup installed at Starbucks stores and enter the event via the dedicated app will have the chance to win Starbucks e-cards (worth up to KRW 500,000) and 3,000 free drink coupons through a random drawing. This event was designed both to encourage daily use of reusable cups and to showcase the hygiene and convenience of LG Mycup to consumers.

The company recently signed a business agreement with Seoul Business Agency (SBA) to supply LG Mycup to supported companies. Alongside the campaign to reduce disposable paper cup usage, part of the product sales revenue will be allocated to support young adults preparing for self-reliance.
In November, LG Electronics will supply 10 LG Mycup units to Osan Air Base to promote eco-friendly lifestyles for military personnel. For LG Mycup units supplied to 21 universities in Gyeonggi Province last year, the average daily usage was more than 50% higher than the overall average, showing increased adoption especially in locations with high demand for eco-friendly products.
LG Mycup is offered as a subscription product, which includes a dedicated care manager service visit every six months to reduce management burdens for corporate clients. The care manager strictly manages tasks such as cleaning the lower door grille, the steam-cleaned detergent and rinse inlets, inspecting the touch display, and replacing the filter for the strainer and water supply. LG Electronics is developing a new B2B business model that generates continuous revenue after product deployment by using the product’s front display as an advertising channel and introducing a reward service where users can exchange app-based advertising view points for coupons.
LG Mycup features a special cleaning blade that rotates 360 degrees and sprays high-pressure water at 65°C, cleaning the inside, outside, and lid of the tumbler. It offers three selectable modes: a "quick course" that takes 30 seconds, a "standard course" that washes and dries in four minutes, and a "dry course" that enhances drying for nine minutes and fifty seconds. The standard course has been proven to eliminate 99.999% of three major harmful bacteria: E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella.
