Recruiting Participants for October 'Gyeonggi Itneun Table'... "The Story of Sikhye by Master Moon Wanki"
Gyeonggi Food Plaza will recruit participants for the culinary culture experience program 'Gyeonggi Itneun Table' from October 1 to 4, 2026.
'Gyeonggi Itneun Table' goes beyond simply learning recipes—it is an event where participants can encounter the life and philosophy of food artisans who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of perfect flavors. The program is designed as an interactive communication event, allowing participants to experience the values of healthy traditional food culture firsthand.
This October, the program will be held under the theme of "The Story of Sikhye by Master Moon Wanki." Moon Wanki, who holds the title of Korea Food Grand Master No. 77, will personally share with residents of Gyeonggi Province the fascinating origins and intricate production process of traditional Sikhye, along with his sincere insights. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to make Master Moon's signature traditional Sikhye themselves and taste it, experiencing the devotion and value embedded in Korean cuisine.
The program is scheduled to take place on October 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gyeonggi Food Plaza. Twenty participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from among residents of Gyeonggi Province and individuals aged 18 or older who reside in the area. Participation is free of charge.
Registration is open from 10 a.m. on October 1 until 6 p.m. on October 4. Applicants must check the announcement posted on the Gyeonggi Agro-Fisheries Promotion Agency website (www.gafi.or.kr) and apply online through Naver Form. Selected participants will be announced at 3 p.m. on October 7 via the website and will also be contacted individually.
Lee Moonmu, Director of Agricultural Policy at Gyeonggi Province, remarked, "Through this Gyeonggi Itneun Table event, I hope that participants will learn about the stories and values woven into our traditional food culture and experience the true meaning of making Sikhye themselves. We will continue to foster a healthy and sustainable food culture through a variety of culinary experience programs in the future."
