The Tucson is a core model driving Hyundai's growth in the US market, making headlines in September with a 32% year-on-year increase in US sales and setting a new third-quarter sales record. Hyundai aims to expand global sales with its next-generation hybrid system and AI-based infotainment technology.
The Tucson is a key model that leads sales growth for Hyundai Motor Company in the US market. According to Hyundai Motor America (HMA), the Tucson achieved a 32% year-on-year increase in US sales in September. Alongside the Palisade (52%), Sonata (39%), and Santa Fe (21%), it contributed to Hyundai's monthly sales increase.
In September, Hyundai sold a total of 77,439 units in the US, a 9% year-on-year increase, marking the highest September sales on record. Third-quarter sales also rose by 3% year-on-year to 246,896 vehicles, setting an all-time quarterly record. The Tucson set a new quarterly sales record with a 23% year-on-year increase in third-quarter sales.

President Munoz stated, "Millions of households worldwide have placed their trust in Hyundai’s Tucson, and this latest model is the best Tucson we've ever built. With its bold design, spacious interior, intelligent infotainment, and efficient hybrid technology, it will set a new standard for this market."
He also announced plans to introduce more than 100 new and facelifted models worldwide by 2030, with 58 new models to be launched in North America alone.

View original imageThe new Tucson presents a modern reinterpretation of steel’s sturdiness, based on Hyundai's design philosophy, 'Art of Steel.' The body size has grown, measuring 4,700 mm in length and 1,905 mm in width, larger than the previous model. The futuristic exterior is completed by the H-Edge Lighting, which emphasizes horizontal proportions, and the prism rear lamps featuring a 3D floating sculpture design. The expanded body contributes to a more spacious interior.
The hybrid model is equipped with a next-generation hybrid system. It features 'Stay Mode,' allowing the use of air conditioning and infotainment while the engine is off when stopped, enhancing the convenience of electrified vehicles.
The infotainment system has also been newly designed. The new Tucson is the first Hyundai SUV to feature 'Pleos Connect' based on the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS). The AI agent 'Gleo AI,' powered by a large language model (LLM), supports vehicle control and information queries through a conversational interface. By using the Pleos App Market, a variety of external services can also be used in the vehicle.

View original imageHyundai plans to expand Tucson's sales reach by varying powertrain and trim configurations according to each country's market characteristics. In North America, gasoline and hybrid models will be offered, and the off-road-capable XRT PRO model will be added.
In Korea, it will be launched with two powertrains: a 1.6 turbo gasoline and a 1.6 turbo hybrid. The hybrid model is equipped with Hyundai Motor Group's next-generation hybrid system, delivering a maximum system output of 245 PS and a combined fuel efficiency of 17.4 km/L.
For the European market, a dedicated model tailored to local preferences will be introduced. Hyundai plans to unveil the Europe-exclusive Tucson at the Paris Motor Show, which will be held in Paris, France on October 12.

In Korea, the all-new Tucson was first unveiled to the media at the CJ ENM Studio Center in Paju, Gyeonggi-do on September 18. The official price will be announced in October, with full-scale sales commencing soon after.
