The “Navy Recruitment Supporters” program was established to leverage the fresh perspectives and ideas of university students, aiming to promote the diverse aspects of the Navy to the public and to convey recruitment-related information in a more approachable and effective manner.
The launch ceremony was presided over by Vice Admiral Kang Jeong-ho, Commander of the Navy Education Command, who awarded appointment certificates to six students from Korea Maritime and Ocean University and seven students from Pukyong National University at the Education Command headquarters. Following this, the students introduced their activity plans as supporters and participated in a tour of the Submarine History Museum. Subsequently, the Navy Education Commander personally visited Mokpo National Maritime University to present appointment certificates to five supporters there.
The Navy Supporters selected to officially begin their activities include Kim Nahyun, Kim Min-ki, Kim Yunseo, Yang Jinwoong, Lee Haeri, and Jeong Suhwan from Korea Maritime and Ocean University; Kim Kyunglim, Kim Taeyoon, No Woojong, Ryu Ahjin, Bae Yoonseok, Park Jieun, Lee Junheon, and Jeong Heonseo from Pukyong National University; and Kwon Taeyeon, Ryu Doyoung, Park Yeonwoo, Lee Yewon, and Jeong Minje from Mokpo National Maritime University. Supporters from Jeju National University will be selected soon.
Together with previously selected Catholic Kwandong University supporters, these students will directly experience Navy training grounds, major units, and key events, and will produce a variety of promotional content tailored to university students and young people. In particular, they plan to collaborate with the Navy recruitment SNS channels to introduce the Navy’s missions and roles, the lives of service members, and various service and career information using formats popular with younger generations including photographs, videos, card news, and other social media content.
Additionally, they will participate in various regional festivals and on-campus events alongside Navy recruiters, serving as a communication bridge connecting the Navy, local communities, and university students.
Vice Admiral Kang Jeong-ho stated, “We will strive to make the Navy more relatable to the public by building on the youthful and innovative perspectives of university students,” adding, “I hope these supporters will become a strong bridge linking the Navy with future generations.”
