Celltrion to Participate in CPHI 2026, Expanding Global Partnerships in New Drugs and CDMO
Operating an Exclusive Booth for Five Consecutive Years
Celltrion is set to seek global partners in the fields of new drugs, contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), and supply chain at the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology exhibition. The company’s strategy is to secure a foundation for collaboration that will allow it to expand its business from biosimilars into new drugs and CDMO.
Celltrion announced on September 29 that it will participate in "CPHI Worldwide 2026," the world’s leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology exhibition, to be held from October 6 to 8 (local time) in Milan, Italy.
The 37th annual CPHI, held this year, is an event that fosters opportunities for collaboration across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, CDMO, and strategic alliances. This year's exhibition is expected to host more than 60,000 industry professionals from 2,400 companies across 170 countries.
During the event, Celltrion will focus on partnering for its transition into a global new drug developer. The company plans to identify potential companies for collaboration, particularly in major therapeutic areas where it is already pursuing new drug research and development, such as oncology, obesity and metabolic disorders, and autoimmune diseases, with the goal of expanding its next-generation pipeline.
Celltrion is also broadening its partnerships in manufacturing and supply. The company will strengthen cooperation with existing overseas suppliers of raw materials and contract manufacturing organization (CMO) partners, while also seeking new vendors to diversify its supply chain and enhance cost competitiveness. This is a proactive measure to accommodate increasing global production demand as Celltrion’s main product lines expand.
The company is likewise looking for new clients and collaboration opportunities in the CDMO sector, which it has recently expanded into. Based on its experience in developing antibody biopharmaceuticals and its manufacturing facilities, Celltrion plans to pursue customized partnerships with external pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. This forms part of its strategy to broaden its business portfolio from a biosimilar-focused structure to include both new drugs and CDMO.
Since 2022, Celltrion has established an exclusive booth at CPHI for five consecutive years. This year, the company will set up a booth of approximately 152 square meters and utilize dedicated meeting rooms and lounges to conduct business meetings with potential clients and partners.
