Details Behind Acquisition Not Disclosed
It has been confirmed that former KBS announcer Noh Hyun-jung and Jeong Changgeon, the eldest son of former HN Inc president Chung Daesun, are the largest shareholders of the IT service company HNIX, whose major clients include companies from the broader Hyundai group.
On the 29th, The Biz Korea, citing HNIX's 2025 audit report, reported that Jeong, born in 2007, held 1,589,488 shares of HNIX as of the end of last year.
Jeong's shareholding represents 39.74%, the highest among all shareholders. Following him is HNIX CEO Cha Dongwon, who owns 740,000 shares (18.50%). Asan Foundation Chairman Chung Mongjoon holds 470,000 shares (11.75%), HL Holdings has 415,712 shares (10.39%), Hyundai Material owns 357,970 shares (8.95%), and KCC Group Chairman Chung Mongjin holds 206,680 shares (5.17%), respectively.
HNIX was established in 2022 as a spin-off of the IT service business unit from HN Inc, which was led by Jeong's father, Chung Daesun. The company operates in system integration (SI), IT outsourcing, and consulting·solution services, serving companies related to the broader Hyundai group such as HD Hyundai, HDC, and HL Group as major clients. After experiencing financial difficulties, HN Inc was sold in 2024 to Taecho E&C, an affiliate of SM Group. Taecho E&C then absorbed HN Inc and changed its name to HN E&C. Subsequently, in May 2025, HN E&C sold its entire 59.74% stake in HNIX. Of this, Jeong acquired 39.74%, CEO Cha acquired 18.50%, and the remaining 1.50% was reportedly sold to other investors.

View original imageHNIX posted sales of 76.6 billion won and operating profit of 3.7 billion won last year. Compared to the previous year’s sales of 72.5 billion won and operating profit of about 100 million won, both top line and profitability improved. However, the financial position remains unstable. At the end of last year, HNIX had liabilities of 64.5 billion won and a total equity of minus 50.2 billion won, indicating a state of complete capital impairment. Although operating profits increased, it is expected that it will take time to resolve accumulated financial burdens.

It is still unknown under what conditions or background Jeong acquired his stake, or whether he will be directly involved in the management of the company in the future. The Biz Korea stated that it contacted HNIX to ask about the circumstances of the stake acquisition and possible management involvement, but did not receive a response. Meanwhile, Noh Hyun-jung joined KBS as a 29th class public recruitment announcer in 2003 and hosted programs such as 'Imagination Plus' and 'Star Golden Bell.' She stopped her broadcasting activities after marrying former HN Inc president Chung Daesun in 2006.
