It has been confirmed that one Korean national who went missing after being swept away by floods in Thailand has died.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 28, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, with cooperation from the Thai authorities, conducted an identification process on the body of a presumed Korean man who went missing in the flood, and confirmed that the identity is Korean.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "We are providing the necessary consular assistance, including notifying the bereaved family of the death."
According to local media reports, at around 5:00 a.m. on September 24, one of three men walking on a flooded road in the Nong Prue area near Pattaya, Chonburi Province, central Thailand, fell into a drainage ditch and went missing.
