World Printmaking in One Place... Gwangju International Print Exchange Exhibition Opens October 1
60 Artists from 9 Korean Regions and 5 Foreign Countries Participate

An exhibition featuring works by 60 printmaking artists from Korea and abroad will be held in Gwangju, allowing visitors to see diverse creations in one place.
According to the Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City on September 27, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Arts Center and the Gwangju Contemporary Printmakers Association will host the "2026 Gwangju International Print Exchange Exhibition" from October 1 to 25.
The exhibition will feature 59 prints by 60 artists in total, including 37 artists from nine regions in Korea – Gwangju, North Jeolla, Seoul, Incheon, Busan, Ulsan, Daejeon, Daegu, and Jeju – as well as 23 artists from five countries: Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.
The works encompass a broad range, from traditional printmaking techniques such as woodcut, lithography, and etching, to pieces that utilize different materials and methods of image expression. Visitors can compare the works of artists who have been active in different regions and cultural backgrounds.
This exhibition also highlights the ongoing efforts in domestic and international exchange led by the Gwangju Contemporary Printmakers Association, which was founded in 1984. The association has fostered artistic activity among local artists and promoted exchange between domestic and international artists through regular exhibitions and international exchange shows.

Jang Wonseok, president of the Gwangju Contemporary Printmakers Association, stated, "I hope this will serve as an opportunity to introduce the varied artistic worlds of artists from Gwangju, other Korean regions, and overseas to the public, and to further expand cultural and artistic exchange between regions and countries through the medium of printmaking art."
