Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Choi Ki-chan) announced on the 27th that it had signed an agreement for the 2026 Welfare Support Project with the Myeongmun Foundation at the district office on the 22nd. This marks the third consecutive year that Myeongmun has sponsored Geumcheon-gu's welfare projects.

View original imageUnder this agreement, Myeongmun will donate 27 million won through the Community Chest of Korea. The foundation has been carrying out projects such as providing supplies, scholarships, and support for self-reliance among young adults preparing for independence.
The donated funds will be used to support IT learning devices for science and engineering college students and to provide winter essentials to low-income households. First, IT learning devices will be provided to seven science and engineering college students experiencing financial hardship. In winter, as part of Geumcheon-gu's project "Geumchi Is Coming," kimchi will be delivered to 400 low-income residents.
Cho Yoon-sung, Secretary General of Myeongmun, said, "We are grateful for our ongoing relationship with Geumcheon-gu. It is meaningful to be able to empower the district's youth as they prepare for the future, and to help neighbors in need enjoy a warmer winter."
