Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province is seeking new owners for the Type 1 Port Hinterland Complex in the Gapogu District.
On September 26, Changwon Special City announced that it would proceed with a public competitive bidding process to sell five industrial lots and one parking lot in the Gapogu District, developed as part of the Masan Maritime New Town construction project.

The lots for sale had part of their buffer green area along the main road lifted in March, following decisions on urban planning facilities (port), and the location conditions have been improved by allowing companies to obtain public property usage permits and secure access roads as needed to ensure smooth logistics for tenant companies.
The available lots are located at 669 Gapodong, Masanhappo-gu, and five additional locations, all within the Type 1 Port Hinterland Complex. Eligible applicants are companies that meet the Type 1 port hinterland complex residency requirements under Article 69 of the Port Act (including records of import/export using the port) and intend to establish facilities in compliance with the district unit plan for the Gapogu District.
The lots will be sold through public competitive bidding on Onbid, the platform managed by Korea Asset Management Corporation, with the successful bidders being those who submit the highest prices. The bid deposit is 10% of the bid amount.
The sales schedule is as follows: ▲ Bid applications from September 28 to October 13; ▲ Bid opening on October 14; ▲ Submission of resident contract applications from October 21 to October 23; ▲ Residency qualification review from October 23 to November 2; ▲ Announcement and notification of successful bidders on November 3; ▲ Conclusion of sales and residency contracts from November 9 to November 13. Detailed information can be found in the Onbid announcement.
Cho Seongmin, Director of the Maritime Port and Fisheries Bureau, stated, "We expect that this sale will help revitalize Masan Port and boost local production and employment by attracting companies engaged in port-related logistics. We hope for broad interest and participation from companies wishing to move in."
