Business Matchmaking and Four Live Performances Unveiled
Korean popular music has begun pioneering export opportunities at Europe’s largest music market.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 23rd that they hosted the ‘Korea Spotlight’ event at the Reeperbahn Festival, which was held in Hamburg, Germany, over two days starting on the 17th.
More than 200 key business representatives leading the global music industry attended the business-to-business (B2B) program. In particular, representatives from Universal Music, Sony Music, Concord Music Publishing, Kobalt Music, and One Phoenix Live participated in match-making and networking mixer sessions, where they discussed concrete overseas expansion strategies with domestic participating companies.
There was also a performance highlighting the genre diversity of K-music. On the evening of the 17th, under the open standing stage at Spielbudenplatz, Cant BeBlue, FatHamster & KangNew, KIRAS, and Okashi delivered live performances.

The Korea Creative Content Agency will continue to hold Korea Spotlight in Mexico later this month, in Japan next month, and in Taiwan and Spain in November.
