Global Technology Signs MOU with ADST to Build Micro LED Mass Production Ecosystem
Global Technology has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ADST to build a mass production ecosystem for micro LED.
According to Global Technology on September 22, through this MOU, the two companies will cooperate on the following: ▲ joint development of process and equipment optimization for micro LED mass production ▲ joint localization of core components within ADST equipment ▲ joint response to domestic and overseas markets.
Global Technology possesses technology that covers the entire spectrum from micro LED driver IC design to ultra-miniature packaging (TSV) and modularization. ADST is a specialized company that has accumulated precision process equipment technology in the fields of optical communication equipment and semiconductor back-end process equipment.
The two companies will also collaborate to localize the equipment and its key components, which currently rely on imports. This involves expanding Global Technology's expertise in IC design and module technology into the equipment domain.
ADST is an affiliate of Sung Ho Electronics Group, which is a strategic investor in Global Technology. This MOU represents the first tangible outcome of business cooperation between the two groups following the strategic investment. Starting with this collaboration, the two companies plan to explore ways to further advance their partnership over the medium and long term.
