"Walk Eye-to-Eye with Giraffes and Lions"... Everland's 'Wasaik' Walking Expedition Draws Huge Crowds
Everland's 'Wild Savanna Expedition'
Eco Experience on Foot Instead of By Car
Over 100,000 Visitors in Just 10 Days Since Launch
Samsung C&T Resort Division announced on September 22 that Everland's new safari walking exploration program, the 'Wild Savanna Expedition,' surpassed a cumulative total of 100,000 visitors within just 10 days of opening.
Launched on September 12 to coincide with the beginning of the autumn festival, the Wild Savanna Expedition is an ecological exploration program designed for guests to walk a 1-kilometer stretch of Lost Valley—an area that previously could only be experienced by vehicle. The program allows visitors to encounter 15 species of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, rhinoceroses, and lions, up close.
In particular, the 'River Trail' course, installed along the canal between Safari World and Lost Valley, is being offered free of charge this fall, drawing an enthusiastic response. Built using floating bridge technology, the River Trail is a walkway that connects floating structures above water, allowing visitors to stroll across the surface and observe herbivores and carnivores on either side from various perspectives.
This program has also gained buzz online and through social networking services (SNS), where it is popularly referred to by the abbreviation 'Wasaik,' a newly coined term. Videos featuring extremely close-up animal encounters (short-form content) have recorded over 400,000 views. On site, the experience is further enhanced by keepers' ecological storytelling and endangered species conservation education, and explorers who complete the walk receive a certification, adding educational value to the visit.
At night, the horror-themed 'Blood City Zero' space is in operation. Created in collaboration with film director Lee Seokhoon, this area allows visitors to take part in an immersive performance using interactive theater techniques and complete escape missions. Immersive performances are a format where the audience does not merely observe from outside the stage, but instead directly interact with the actors and participate as part of the dramatic experience.
In addition, there are various autumn season attractions available until November 22, including the 'Final Lap' area where visitors can view racing cars and enjoy driving games.
