Financial Sector to Inject 102.6 Trillion Won Before and After Chuseok
On September 21, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, Lee Okwon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, visited a traditional market to look into everyday life issues.
According to the Financial Services Commission, Chairman Lee visited Tongin Market in Jongno-gu that day, where he purchased meat, traditional Korean sweets (hangwa), and songpyeon, and listened to merchants discuss the current business conditions and challenges facing traditional markets.
Chairman Lee introduced customized financial support measures, including the specialized credit evaluation (SCB) for small business owners currently being promoted by the Financial Services Commission, as well as the "Small Business Owner The Dream Package" worth 12.3 trillion won.
He also explained that, in addition to expanding loan refinancing services and activating the interest rate reduction request system to lower financial costs, a total of 102.6 trillion won in funds would be supplied through policy financial institutions and banks around the Chuseok holiday period. Support for recovery, such as the expansion of debt reduction and repayment deferment, will also continue for small business owners and self-employed individuals struggling with debt repayment.
