Serious Injuries Reported During Army 25th Division’s DMZ Search Operation…Landmine Explosion Suspected
On September 21, an incident, suspected to have been caused by a landmine explosion, occurred during a search operation in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) at a front-line unit of the Army's 25th Division, which is responsible for the western front.
As a result of this accident, three soldiers participating in the DMZ search operation sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital, including two who were seriously injured. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the incident may have been caused by a landmine explosion. However, it has not been confirmed whether the landmine was planted by North Korean forces or resulted from one of the South Korean military's own mines.
