The National Security Office stated, "We reviewed the response situation, analyzed and assessed the impact of this launch on our security, and examined the necessary follow-up measures," adding, "We emphasized the need to maintain a thorough readiness posture." It further noted, "North Korea's ballistic missile launches constitute a grave violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions, and we urged an immediate halt to such actions."

Earlier that afternoon, the Joint Chiefs of Staff detected an unidentified projectile launched by North Korea towards the East Sea. The National Security Office confirmed that the projectile was a short-range ballistic missile launched from the Wonsan area.
