Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Choi Wonyong) will begin the '2026~2027 Seasonal Influenza National Vaccination' program earlier than originally planned, as the influenza outbreak has started earlier than usual this year.

View original imageThe free vaccination is available for children and pregnant women who are at high risk for complications if infected with influenza, as well as for seniors aged 65 and over. In particular, starting from this season, the eligible age range for children has been expanded from 6 months–13 years to 6 months–14 years old.
Children and pregnant women can receive the vaccination starting on September 21. For seniors aged 65 and over, the schedule is as follows: those aged 75 and above can start on October 6, those aged 70–74 on October 12, and those aged 65–69 from October 15.
In addition to the national vaccination program, the city is also conducting its own vaccination support project for vulnerable groups, such as people with severe disabilities, recipients of medical benefits, and national merit recipients. These individuals can receive vaccinations starting October 19.
Eligible recipients should check the start date for their vaccination group and visit the nearest designated medical institution with their ID or other identification. The list of designated medical institutions can be found on the Vaccination Helper website.
