Hana Financial Group and Hanwha Asset Management Collaborate with Abu Dhabi on Stablecoin Initiative
Digital Asset Cooperation with Global Financial Hub ADGM
Hana Financial Group announced on September 18 that it will promote a stablecoin business between Korea and Abu Dhabi, together with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Hanwha Asset Management.
Hana Financial Group signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 16th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Banpo, Seoul, with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Hanwha Asset Management for 'Stablecoin business and cross-border financial infrastructure cooperation between Korea and Abu Dhabi.' View original imageIn line with this, Hana Financial Group signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding for stablecoin business and cross-border financial infrastructure cooperation with ADGM and Hanwha Asset Management at the JW Marriott Hotel in Banpo, Seoul on September 16. The signing ceremony was attended by Taesung Um, Executive Director of Hana Financial Group; Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, CEO of ADGM Registration Authority; and Seungpil Baek, Executive Director and Head of Digital Innovation Office at Hanwha Asset Management.
This agreement aims to jointly discover new business opportunities based on the three companies' capabilities and global networks in the financial and digital asset sectors, while establishing a foundation for cross-border financial cooperation connecting Korea and Abu Dhabi. ADGM, established in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 2015, is an international financial center with the participation of global financial institutions, institutional investors, fintech, and digital asset companies.
Through this agreement, the three parties plan to jointly explore business opportunities related to digital assets and payment infrastructure such as stablecoins, expand cross-border payment and remittance solutions, and cooperate to create a sustainable and interoperable digital asset ecosystem.
A Hana Financial Group representative stated, "This agreement marks a new starting point for cooperation that connects the rapidly growing global digital financial hub of Abu Dhabi with the Korean financial market," adding, "Based on the expertise and global networks of each institution, we will continue to discover practical collaboration models in the digital asset and cross-border finance sectors."
