Products to Meet Canadian Consumers at Calgary A Mart Special Sales Center in October
Forty-two agricultural food items produced in Hamyang, Gyeongnam—such as rice, processed wild ginseng products, bugak (deep-fried vegetable chips), and teas—are set to be exported to Canada.
On September 18, Hamyang County announced that it held an export loading ceremony for “Hamyang Agricultural Food Export to Calgary A Mart in Canada” at the Hamyang Nonghyup Grain Comprehensive Processing Center.
This shipment is the first batch to be supplied to the Hamyang Agricultural Food Special Sales Center, which is scheduled to open in Calgary, Canada, in October. The county plans to assess sales performance and consumer feedback by item through local sales and examine the potential for additional exports based on these results.

The total export volume amounts to one 40-foot container loaded with 25 pallets, valued at KRW 89.58 million. The shipment comprises a total of 42 different products.
The main items include 1,090 bags (10 kg each) of rice from Hamyang Nonghyup, five types of processed wild ginseng products from Hamyang Sanyangsam, five kinds of bugak from Jin&Jin Food, six types of health drink and tea products from Jeonggane Food, 20 types of tea from Herb & Tea, two types of ginger concentrate tea from The Farmer, and three kinds of plum tea from Unim Farm.
In October, the county will operate a special sales center at A Mart in Calgary, Canada, to display and sell these products.
In particular, during the promotion period, the county plans to closely monitor sales numbers by product and local consumer feedback in order to identify products with strong export potential and negotiate possible additional supply with local distributors.
A county official said, “We plan to monitor local consumer reactions and sales performance through the operation of the special sales center,” adding, “We will support further exports, focusing on items that prove their competitiveness.”
