Medytox’s “NuViju” Surpasses 30,000 Vials Supplied in Just 6 Months Since Launch
Medytox's fat reduction injection "NuViju (NUVIJU)" surpassed a cumulative supply of 30,000 vials to domestic hospitals and clinics in just about six months since its launch.
On September 18, Medytox announced that the cumulative supply of NuViju, released at the end of March, has recently exceeded 30,000 vials in hospitals and clinics across South Korea. Since its launch, sales have recorded an average monthly growth rate of approximately 28%. The company analyzed that new orders from newly partnered clinics, especially those located in areas with high demand for aesthetic medical services such as Gangnam and Seocho in Seoul, and southern Gyeonggi Province, have rapidly increased product adoption, driving the sales growth.
NuViju is the world’s first submental fat reduction injection developed with cholanoic acid (CA) as its main ingredient. It received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea as the country’s 40th new drug, specifically indicated for moderate to severe submental fat reduction. It is the first domestically developed new drug in the medical aesthetics field and also the first synthetic drug independently developed by Medytox.
According to Medytox, NuViju uses cholanoic acid as its main ingredient, which is designed to lower the likelihood of adverse reactions such as swelling and bruising, and has a formulation with a pH similar to that of the human body. It also does not contain chemical excipients that can irritate the skin, such as benzyl alcohol and benzethonium chloride. Based on current sales trends, Medytox assesses that NuViju’s market share in South Korea has surpassed 20%.
