Lunit Named One of "The World's Best HealthTech Companies" by TIME Magazine
Recognized in the "Diagnostics" Category
Lunit, a healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on September 18 that it has been named one of "The World's Best HealthTech Companies 2026" by TIME, the U.S. current affairs weekly magazine.
Since last year, TIME has been conducting a multi-dimensional evaluation together with the global data institute Statista to identify innovative and promising companies in the global healthtech sector. This year, a total of 500 companies from over 30 countries around the world were selected.
The assessment was based on a comprehensive analysis of three indexes—financial performance, reputation, and online engagement—across six categories: AI and data analytics, diagnostics, healthcare information and management, medical devices and wearables, prevention, and telemedicine and treatment. Lunit was recognized as the world's leading healthtech company in the diagnostics category, highlighting its competitiveness in the global diagnostics market.
The diagnostics category encompasses digital solutions that assist in the evaluation and diagnosis of diseases, such as medical image analysis and early disease detection monitoring. Lunit's selection is particularly significant since it has focused its business growth on cancer diagnostics.
Lunit is expanding its presence in the global medical imaging and diagnostics market, centering on its AI image analysis solution product line, Lunit INSIGHT. Notably, 95% of its total revenue in the second quarter of last year came from overseas markets. This was achieved by building direct sales capabilities through subsidiaries such as Lunit International (formerly Volpara) in major markets like the United States and Europe, and by continuously expanding partnerships with major global medical device companies including GE Healthcare, Philips, and Fujifilm.
Currently, Lunit's AI solutions are deployed in more than 10,000 medical institutions in over 70 countries worldwide, aiding cancer diagnostics and treatment.
