T-Robotics to Establish U.S. Production Base Amid Growing Orders
T-Robotics is moving to secure a local production base in the United States.
As of September 18, according to T-Robotics, the company is currently reviewing multiple candidate sites within the U.S. for potential factory construction or leasing opportunities. By adding a local production base to its existing Silicon Valley and Texas subsidiaries, the company aims to enhance its ability to meet customer delivery deadlines and provide technical support.
Recently, U.S. regulations related to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are changing, particularly around communications and control devices applied to robots. T-Robotics plans to strengthen its U.S. business foundation, enabling it to respond flexibly to certification and supply chain changes.
T-Robotics recorded sales of approximately 18 billion won in the first half of the year, and since the start of the third quarter, shipments of vacuum robots used in glass substrate and semiconductor processes have surged significantly. In addition, the company continues to achieve new contract wins in North America for its autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and process automation systems business.
Since May, T-Robotics has consecutively won orders for AMR and automation systems applied to Ford Energy’s U.S. energy storage system (ESS) production processes, reaching a cumulative order total of about 19 billion won so far. The company is also pursuing contracts for follow-up orders through its U.S. subsidiary.
The company has expanded its business scope from its core vacuum robot business to include AMR and process automation systems. Recently, it has been working on in-house production of key components such as robot reducers and actuators it developed itself, and is extending its technology development into the humanoid robotics field.
