Shinhan Bank Joins Kakao Consortium for "AI for All" Project
On September 17, Shinhan Bank announced that it would be participating as the financial sector partner of the Kakao consortium in the "AI for All" project, which is led by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
"AI for All" is a government project that aims to connect various industries and services with artificial intelligence, so that everyone in the country can experience the benefits of AI in daily life. The Ministry of Science and ICT selected a total of three leading consortiums, and Shinhan Bank will be responsible for developing AI services in the financial sector within the Kakao consortium.
Shinhan Bank will explore ways to make financial information and services easier and more accessible for customers by combining KakaoTalk's extensive customer network, LG Uplus's AI models and telecommunications infrastructure, with the bank's accumulated financial expertise and customer consultation experience.
Considering the complexity and specialized nature of financial products and systems, which often makes it difficult for customers to fully understand or utilize relevant information, the bank plans to leverage AI to explain financial concepts and systems in simple terms and guide customers to the services they need based on their questions and circumstances.
Going forward, Shinhan Bank intends to broaden the scope of applications, reducing the need for customers to search and compare financial information themselves, and proactively providing solutions that meet customers' financial needs.
