Samsung Electronics announced on the 16th that it has officially rolled out the 'One UI 9' software update, beginning with the domestic Galaxy S26 series and will gradually expand the update to global markets.
The new One UI 9 features context-aware capabilities that significantly enhance everyday convenience, leveraging advanced 'Galaxy artificial intelligence (AI)'. Among its key functionalities are 'MyFanCam', which automatically tracks selected individuals in videos and centers them on the screen; 'Now Brief', which provides personalized briefing information; and 'Now Nudge', which detects appointment details and locations in message conversations in real time and suggests saving or scheduling them.
In addition, the update introduces 'Creative Studio', which proposes ideas for generating images such as celebration cards linked to the user’s calendar, and a 'Translation' feature with thread view for a clearer overview of conversation flows. The document scanning function has been improved with curvature correction and fingertip erasing capabilities, while voice recordings are automatically organized into structured formats with titles and table layouts for easier understanding. Samsung has also added a new 'Warranty and Care' menu, which provides integrated support from checking the warranty period to booking service center appointments for device management.

This update utilizes on-device AI to provide a security environment that users can directly manage and control. It includes 'Security Brief', which periodically summarizes harmful applications and misuse of permissions, and 'Personal Information Protection Alert', which warns users in advance of potential privacy threats. Furthermore, the supported countries for voice phishing pre-detection technology have been expanded to Japan, Canada, and India. If signs of voice manipulation are detected, users are instantly alerted through screen pop-ups, warning sounds, and vibration, enabling immediate awareness of potential financial crime threats.
