Dalseong County Passes Ordinance to Prevent Damages to Regional Housing Cooperative Applicants... Sponsored by Democratic Party Councilor Eunsook Yang
The "Daegu Dalseong County Ordinance on the Prevention of Damages to Applicants Joining Regional Housing Cooperatives, etc.," sponsored by Eunsook Yang, a Democratic Party member representing Yuga, Hyeonpung, and Guji, was finally passed at the plenary session of the Dalseong County Council on September 17.
During the last presidential election, Assemblywoman Yang served as Chairperson of the Committee for Protecting Electoral District B and Livelihood Action at the Daegu Metropolitan Party of the Democratic Party of Korea. She worked to resolve the construction suspension and move-in delay issues of the Naedang 3 District Regional Housing Cooperative (Duryu Station Seohi Star Hills Apartments) by communicating directly with cooperative members and facilitating cooperation among relevant agencies and political circles.
Having directly witnessed the financial and housing difficulties faced by regional housing cooperative members during the process of addressing the Naedang 3 District’s issues, Assemblywoman Yang recognized the need for institutional measures to prevent damages at the application stage, rather than relying solely on remedies after disputes arise. This led her to push forward with this ordinance.
The ordinance focuses on establishing an institutional framework at the local government level to prevent damages and provide information, ensuring that applicants for regional housing cooperatives can sufficiently verify project information and make decisions carefully.
