SAMG Entertainment's "Catch! Teenieping" Debuts in Nexon's MapleStory
SAMG Entertainment's flagship intellectual property (IP), "Catch! Teenieping," will make an appearance in Nexon's popular online game "MapleStory." By expanding its presence from animation and toys to games, the company is accelerating the global expansion of its IP business.
The global IP content company SAMG Entertainment announced on September 17 that "Catch! Teenieping" and Nexon's MapleStory will launch a collaboration. This collaborative content will be available from today through October 21.
Through this collaboration, key characters and the universe of "Catch! Teenieping" have been recreated as pets and decorative items in MapleStory. The popular character Hatchuping will be featured in various forms, including decorative items, pets, and the Sol Hecate skin.
Dianaping, Eclipseping, and Hatchuping—characters introduced in Season 6, "Princess Catch! Teenieping"—will be released as three new Luna Petit pets, known as "Petit Teenieping." When all three pets are equipped together, users receive the exclusive skill "Power of Petit Teenieping," and the effects are enhanced up to three levels depending on the combination of equipped pets. Exclusive equipment items inspired by each pet's traits and accessories will also be provided.
By using the "Illusion Ring," MapleStory characters can be customized to look like Teenieping characters such as Kangchongping, Yaongping, Chorongping, Sapbunping, and Auroraping. In addition, items that let players decorate pet and character name tags and speech bubbles, as well as "Romi Avatar Set exchange tickets" inspired by the Season 6 Romi costume, are also available.
SAMG Entertainment has continued to expand Catch! Teenieping game content this year through a series of collaborations with the gaming industry.
In January and May, it partnered with Neptune's mobile game "Stairway to Infinity." In April, it introduced the "Princess Catch! Teenieping" theme in Krafton's "PUBG Mobile." In July, it carried out a second large-scale collaboration with Haegin's "Play Together," and is also engaged in global collaboration with Nexon's "KartRider Rush Plus."
By increasing the number of channels through which players can experience its characters and universe in games, the company is broadening the utilization of its IP. SAMG Entertainment plans to continue expanding the content of Catch! Teenieping through collaborations with not only games but also various other types of content.
