Intense Competition Among 889 Teams
The city of Daegu will host the "2026 Daegu National Song Festival" at Kolon Outdoor Music Hall on September 19 at 6:30 p.m., where participants from across the country will compete with their singing talents and citizens can join in the festivities.
This year, a total of 889 teams from around the country signed up for the festival, resulting in a competition ratio of 74 to 1. The 12 teams selected through two rounds of preliminaries will showcase their distinct styles and skills on the finals stage that day.
The total prize money for this festival amounts to 30 million won. The grand prize winner will receive 15 million won, the gold prize 5 million won, and the silver prize 3 million won. Each finalist team will also be awarded 700,000 won. Trot singers Jang Minho and Park Guyoon, as well as the female vocal group SeeYa, are set to perform and add excitement to the event.
