Main Korean Delegation Departs for 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games
The main contingent of the South Korean national team participating in the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Summer Asian Games in 2026 will depart for Japan, the site of the competition, on September 17, 2026.
According to the Korea Sports Council, the main contingent will depart for Nagoya, Japan, on Korean Air flight KE741 from Incheon International Airport at 10:35 a.m. on the same day.

View original imageThe delegation departing today consists of a total of 122 members, including Lee Sanghyun, head of the team, Korea Sports Council executives, as well as athletes from the badminton, cycling (road), women's handball, karate, table tennis, and beach volleyball teams. After arriving in Japan, the athletes will move into their assigned villages and acclimate before embarking on the official competition schedule.
Shin Yubin (table tennis) and Seo Seungjae (badminton) will serve as flag bearers for the team's departure. Kim Woojin (archery recurve) and Ivona (shooting, shotgun) will be team captains throughout the Games. At the opening ceremony to be held at Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium in Nagoya, Japan, on September 19, Kim Dongyong (rowing) and Shin Yubin will serve as flag bearers.
Yoo Seungmin, President of the Korea Sports Council, said, "I hope that our team will be able to showcase the skills they have built up over the hot summer to their fullest. I ask all citizens to support our athletes until the very end."

For this competition, the Korea Sports Council is dispatching a total delegation of 1,051 people across 41 events, including 791 athletes, 219 team officials, and 41 council executives.
