Comprehensive appliance manufacturer Paseco is opening a pop-up store for its premium kitchen hood, 'STARDUST,' at a department store to establish a new distribution channel ahead of its official launch. This space, the first of its kind in the domestic kitchen hood industry, will allow consumers to experience the product's design and performance firsthand.
Paseco will operate the STARDUST pop-up store on the first floor of Hyundai Department Store Sinchon from Friday, September 18 to Thursday, October 1.
This pop-up allows consumers to directly compare the performance of existing kitchen hoods and STARDUST. In particular, an experience zone has been set up where visitors can check differences in suction power and noise, letting them assess the most critical performance factors on site during the product selection process.
A separate space is dedicated to experiencing the product’s design. Visitors can see the constellation-inspired hidden lighting applied to STARDUST first-hand, which aims to convey a differentiated product concept from previous function-centered kitchen hoods.
Unlike general home appliances such as refrigerators or washing machines, kitchen hoods are products whose installation is greatly affected by the kitchen layout and construction process. For this reason, in many cases, the brand and product are chosen by construction companies or contractors, rather than by the consumer directly comparing and selecting them at the time of purchase.
Paseco aims, through its department store pop-up, to create a touchpoint where consumers can experience kitchen hood performance firsthand and have the opportunity to choose their product for themselves.
STARDUST is a premium kitchen hood that Paseco has developed over five years of research and development. It features a proprietary 'BLDC Alpha' motor enabling a super-slim 35mm design, with five times the suction power and half the noise level compared to previous models.
The smart features have also been enhanced. An IoT smart control function is included, using fine dust and temperature sensors to monitor the kitchen environment, and a universal compatibility design was adopted to suit various kitchen structures and hood types.
This product achieves not only strong suction — the core functional advancement — but also combines modern design and intelligent usability, meeting the expectations of consumers seeking premium kitchen appliances.
Paseco plans to incrementally expand STARDUST’s distribution channels. The company noted that, since first unveiling the product at Korea Build Week in August, it has received a steady stream of pop-up proposals from department stores and construction industry partners.
Starting with this Hyundai Department Store Sinchon pop-up, Paseco plans to sequentially operate experiential pop-ups at major department stores nationwide and to gather consumer feedback and on-site reactions prior to the official launch.
STARDUST is scheduled for official release in mid-November. This pop-up serves as a form of pre-launch marketing, offering consumers an early look at the product and gauging market reactions before release.
A Paseco representative said, "Although kitchen hoods are long-lasting products, there have not been many opportunities for consumers to directly compare and choose between different models. With this pop-up in the accessible setting of a department store, we have arranged for visitors to directly experience STARDUST’s suction power, low noise performance, and design."
The representative continued, "Beginning with this Sinchon pop-up, we will continue to expand direct touchpoints with consumers and aim to establish STARDUST as a new choice in the premium kitchen hood market."
