Psy to Perform at 'Gangnam Festival' on October 3-4... Traffic Restrictions on Dosan-daero
Two-way Traffic to Be Restricted from Midnight on October 2
Citizens Urged to Use Public Transportation
Gangnam District in Seoul (District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki) announced on September 17 that it will hold the '2026 Gangnam Festival', featuring singer Psy and others, on October 3-4 around Dosan-daero. During the festival, vehicle access in the event areas will be gradually restricted. The district urged citizens to use public transportation, such as the subway, instead of personal vehicles, as large crowds are expected to block portions of Dosan-daero.
The festival will feature a Grand Parade, K-POP and family concerts, as well as fashion and food events. On October 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 32 Pikachu characters will appear in the Grand Parade along the approximately 1-kilometer section from Cheongdam Sageori to Dosan Park Sageori. On the same day, at 7:00 p.m., a family concert with singer Nam Jin and others will also take place. Admission to the concert is free and possible onsite on a first-come, first-served basis.
On October 4, the festival concludes with a K-POP concert at 6:00 p.m., featuring idol groups and Psy, famous for 'Gangnam Style'. Tickets for the K-POP concert will be available for reservation from 8:00 p.m. on September 22 via Ticket Link.
The first section to be restricted is the Hag-dong Sageori to Dosan Park Sageori segment, where the main event stage will be located. From midnight on October 2, access will be blocked for event setup, and on October 3-4, all lanes in both directions, including for buses, will be restricted. The area will reopen sequentially after the removal of facilities, and traffic will fully return to normal from 5:00 a.m. on October 5. To minimize inconvenience for visitors to local businesses, traffic on the north-south side streets will be prioritized, and a separate fire lane will be secured on the south side.
On October 3, additional restrictions will be in place along the section from the southern end of Yeongdong Bridge through Cheongdam Sageori to Hag-dong Sageori for the Grand Parade. Rather than a complete closure, the six northbound lanes of Dosan-daero will be blocked, while two-way traffic will be maintained on the six southbound lanes. As this reduces the usual twelve-lane road to half its regular capacity, congestion is expected, and detours are recommended.
Originally, the parade route was from Apgujeong Galleria Department Store to Dosan Park Sageori. However, it was adjusted to the Cheongdam Sageori to Dosan Park Sageori section in response to requests from wedding businesses in Cheongdam-dong and nearby merchants to alleviate traffic inconvenience.
Bus routes passing through Dosan-daero during this period will be detoured to nearby Apgujeong-ro and Hakdong-ro. The district will provide guidance on detour routes at bus stops and restricted points, deploy staff for information, and offer advance announcements using banners and navigation systems.

District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki stated, "Because this is a large-scale festival with road restrictions on Dosan-daero, we have focused above all on minimizing inconvenience for citizens when drawing up traffic measures. We ask everyone to use public transportation as much as possible during the festival, and we will ensure strict on-site management so that citizens can enjoy the festival safely."
