Hyundai Glovis Partners with Samsung C&T for Smart Building Logistics Automation
Joint Push into the Smart Building Market
Full Automation of Storage, Transport, and Delivery in Office Spaces
Hyundai Glovis is embarking on the development of a joint business model for smart building logistics automation, centered on postal robot delivery, in collaboration with Samsung C&T.
On September 17, Hyundai Glovis announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Construction Division of Samsung C&T for the joint development of smart building logistics automation and robot delivery services.
The signing ceremony, which took place the previous day at Hyundai Glovis headquarters in Seongsu, Seoul, was attended by Hyun Kyuhun, Executive Director and Head of the Future Innovation Technology Center at Hyundai Glovis, as well as Cho Hyejung, Vice President and Head of the DxP Division at Samsung C&T, along with other key officials from both companies.

View original imageThis MOU is significant in that Hyundai Glovis, a leader in logistics automation, is partnering with Samsung C&T, which possesses capabilities in customized robot delivery services for space users, to target the smart building market. Going forward, the two companies plan to conduct technology proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives and build an operational model to lay the groundwork for commercializing the service and driving business development.
Under the agreement, Hyundai Glovis will focus on developing solutions for the collection, storage, and transport of deliveries within buildings. Samsung C&T will concentrate on analyzing facility characteristics, developing services, and creating an operational environment for smart building solutions.
The core of this collaboration is the unmanned delivery of mail and parcels using Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). The robots will receive, store, and sort deliveries arriving at the mailroom (or parcel lockers) and navigate both above and below ground to accurately and promptly deliver items to users’ designated floors and desks.
The two companies plan to implement technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics throughout the logistics process—from the intake, management, sorting, and transportation of deliveries to the final point of delivery. By doing so, they aim to increase work efficiency while also optimizing logistics processing and improving operational efficiency from the perspective of building management.
Next year, they plan to jointly identify sites for real-world application, carry out technology proof-of-concept projects, and further elaborate advanced services and concrete business models. The companies’ strategy is to continue expanding the scope of their collaboration, ultimately delivering differentiated customer services that are difficult to experience in conventional office environments.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Glovis has been focusing on expanding its logistics automation business from the perspective of portfolio diversification. In 2023, the company acquired Altieol, a logistics automation specialist, and at this year’s Smart Factory and Automation Industry Exhibition (AW 2026), it demonstrated the implementation capabilities of its physical AI strategy, which combines automated equipment, robotics, and data-driven operations, providing clients with tailored logistics solutions.
