Since August 1, Boryung has been responsible for Atojet’s domestic distribution, and as of this month, the scope of collaboration has been expanded to include sales and marketing.
Under this agreement, both companies will jointly conduct sales and marketing activities for Atojet and provide information about dyslipidemia treatment and the product to healthcare professionals in Korea.
Atojet is a combination therapy for dyslipidemia that combines ezetimibe, which inhibits cholesterol absorption, and atorvastatin, a statin-class agent. The product comes in four dosage strengths, allowing for prescriptions to be tailored to the patient's risk level and LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) treatment goals.
Notably, among ezetimibe-atorvastatin combination drugs, Atojet is available in the highest dosage combination of ezetimibe 10mg and atorvastatin 80mg. Recently, clinical evidence was also obtained from the BETTER study regarding the effectiveness of achieving LDL-C target goals compared to atorvastatin monotherapy.
Boryung has built its sales network in the cardiovascular and metabolic disease sector with its own antihypertensive drug 'Kanarb' and related product line, the 'Kanarb Family.' The company plans to use this Atojet co-promotion to broaden its chronic disease portfolio, which has focused primarily on hypertension, into the dyslipidemia sector and strengthen its sales contact points with healthcare institutions.
Kim Jungkyun, CEO of Boryung, stated, "This co-promotion expands the scope of collaboration from distribution to sales and marketing, combining the strengths of both companies. By leveraging our strength on the sales front, we will strengthen Atojet’s position in the market and broaden Boryung’s influence in the dyslipidemia field."
