The event was attended by Chairman Hur Taesu of GS, as well as executives from key GS affiliates including GS Energy, GS Caltex, GS Engineering & Construction, GS E&R, and GS Global. Doh Hyunsoo, CEO of GS AI Infrastructure, the entity dedicated to the AI data center business, and other key staff also took part.
The participating companies showcased technologies in the fields of power, memory, cooling, construction, and operation for AI data centers.
In the power segment, Synergia presented solutions to enhance power supply stability and energy efficiency for data centers. Vinsen unveiled hydrogen fuel cell solutions for data centers, leveraging technology accumulated in the shipbuilding and marine industries.
In the memory segment, Exyna introduced CXL (Compute Express Link)-based intelligent memory designed to reduce data processing bottlenecks.
In the cooling segment, KoolMicro showcased D2C (Direct-to-Chip) liquid cooling technology, which removes heat by making direct contact with semiconductor chips, while SDT presented an immersion cooling system that cools servers by submerging them in dielectric coolant.
In the data center construction and operation segment, Ellis Group introduced a modular AI data center, and Vessel AI presented a GPU cloud technology specialized for AI computational tasks.
After their presentations, GS affiliates and startups discussed ways to apply these technologies and explored potential business partnerships. GS plans to further discuss, verify, and assess the feasibility of applying these technologies to actual business operations.
GS is responding to rising demand for AI infrastructure by building a large-scale AI data center in Donghae, Gangwon Province. The company aims to gradually complete a 1.2GW facility starting in 2028, and then add another 1.2GW, expanding the total capacity to 2.4GW. The combined capabilities of its affiliates in power generation, construction, and large-scale infrastructure operation will also be mobilized.
GS Ventures hosts its Tech Day annually to connect its portfolio startups with GS affiliates and discover business collaboration opportunities.
