Coupang Launches Information Security Advisory Committee Led by External Experts
Composed of Top Experts from Law, Policy, and Academia
On September 15, Coupang announced that it has officially launched the "Information Security Advisory Committee," with the participation of external experts, to establish an objective and reliable information security framework.
The advisory committee is comprised of seven experts in the fields of information security, law, management, and IT. The co-chairs are Seong-Uk Heo, Chairman of the CPO Forum, and Brett Mattis, Chief Information Security Officer at Coupang. Chairman Heo is an ICT digital policy expert who previously served as Director General of the Network Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT and as President of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency.

The committee will hold regular meetings each quarter to review the latest legal and institutional changes and trends in security threats, while also advising on Coupang’s overall security policies and key issues. Coupang plans to incorporate the advice of the committee into its internal security policies and work processes.
